i found this thru my google reader. its pretty sweet. love the graphic portrait of a interview based on speech. its an interview with john lennon, i dont know much about the history of it - i'll update you on it if i find out what it the story is. please enjoy
'ye has done three versions of the video for his song flashing lights, personally i like this one
of the other two the i like this one the most (sorry for bad sound quality)
i am really feeling the stop motion action. but i am so not down with the third one (link). the last one i think might actually be the official one - but that would be a waste of the other two.
here is an interesting video of obama talking about basketball. the interesting part is in the end when he talks about how basketball fits into the african american culture. but i also appreciate the the way he is described, not as a black man, but as a bi-racial person. the american media (as most of the world) focus on him being black. but really he is bi-racial. i dont fully agree with him on all his political stances (do i with anyone?), but he does have a pleasant demeanor. here is the video:
one of my favorite sports columnists bill simmons works for espn and while espn is trying to expand its reach they have made these short clips online. here he is meeting rod benson, a blogger and basketball player. i really like rods stuff, i once had his boom tho girl song stuck in my head for a day (link skip forward to the song part). anyways here is simmons and benson in north dakota, actually a good clip.
check out rod bensons stuff on yahoo.com, thats some good stuff as well (link)
i remember reading ?uestlove from the roots, talking about that he was unhappy that andre from outkast had beat him to making the first black modern pop rock song, when 'dre made "hey ya!". now i think the roots finally managed to make a pop rock song that topped "the seed 2.0":
i hope that their new cd which will be released on april 29, which i plan to buy, will be as good as all their other cds. for my opinion on the roots check this [link].
some of you may have heard about the football player sean taylor being shot and dieing last week. he was a major topic of conversation in nfl last week and will continue to be for a least the rest of the season. i surfing the nets i found this video of deion sanders, my favorite player when i was a kid, talking about the feelings in the league and his own feelings.
i think deion really has an important point with stopping the black on black crime and that society needs to do something about it. i am not sure if the nfl network guy is dense or if it he is trying to get deion to talk - i do hope he is smarter than he sounds. another thing is, that i think deion brings some clearity to the issue of the vick scandal, his point being, people are more important than animals. i do agree with deions premise, but we as humans should never forget, that we have a great responsibility to show respect and protect to all of Gods creations.
snoop dogg has always been eccentric, now he has made a video themed in the 70s. well made, even looks like they filmed it back then.
in other news italian players are going to be forced to show good sportsmanship (danish and english). i wonder if it should be necessary to make it a rule. it should actually just come naturally after game that you show respect to your opponents. anyways, dont forget to give some rice to people as you help your vocabulary grow (freerice.com).
and him recently on snl - gotta love the freestyle at the end:
story behind the first video: last year at the european music awards, kanye got on the scene and made a fool of himself cause he lost to justice with the video for their song d.a.n.c.e.. i guess he saw the video (link) and decided to get the directors of the video to make cool video for him.
yesterday i was surfing the internets and i was alerted to the song "crank dat". i think it was pretty popular in the us this summer. but being a european we get everything a little late. so i heard the song, downloaded it within few minutes and the songs has now has become my ringtone. the sound of "yoooouuuuuuuuu" cracks me up everytime my phone rings.
and here is a link for instructions to the dance (l.i.n.k.)
gotta love andre 3000 fokus vs. everyother rapper. love vs. pimpin... andre is everything that is right with rap today and the others, on the other hand they personify everything bad... interesting combo.
i am a lover of good rap, which is especially the roots, mos def, talib kweli, common, a tribe called quest and nas. you have to love kanye for his producing skills, eventhough you sometimes are in doubt if he actually has morals. but anyway, please enjoy these videos:
1:Song produced by DJ Premier, with rappers Rakim, Kanye, Nas and KRS-One on the mic. it is a song made for the 25th anniversary of air force ones. gotta love the Nas and KRS-One verses, plus DJ Premier producing the track.
2:Common - the light. one of the best rap love songs... i hope that more people make songs like this...
3: Well here is another one, almost as good. Roots with Erykah Badu and Eve - you got me...
4: nas - it aint hard to tell...
5: Mos Def and Talib Kweli - definition
6: Mos Def and Talib Kweli - whats beef? on Dave Chapelles Show
I hope you enjoy just a few of these songs - i enjoyed finding them... peace
Check out KNA Connected. One of the group members is Khalil, a great Bahá'í who happens to have a great flow to go along with nice rhymes - he is the tall light-skinned brotha. The three guys in KNA Connected are all residing in Denmark, they do a great live preformance to go with their music (Saw them at "Operaen" - right Chris?).
I was watching my favorite tv show (on MTV), top ten at ten, and then I saw KNA Connected. It was top ten danish bands, pretty impressing to see them there. Here is the video, the danish remix of their song "Fibs".
If you wanna hear the original in english and know more about them check out their homepage (link) or on their myspace.com site (link).
